Fifty two years of playscheme, over a thousand children a week, nothing else quite like it.

The biggest scheme of its kind

Leyland Playscheme is a registered charity (no. 1179704) running a subsidised holiday playscheme for children aged 4 to 14, across two summer weeks — one at Leyland, one at Samlesbury. Over 1,000 children and 250 volunteers attend each week, making it the biggest scheme of its kind in the UK.

How the scheme is run

The scheme is 100% volunteer-run. Registration fees cover only part of what a week costs, and the rest comes from fundraising and from people and businesses in and around Leyland. That is what keeps the scheme within reach of every family.

Policies & safeguarding

The welfare of every child is paramount. Every volunteer is fully trained, DBS-checked and supervised through a clear structure.
